What Is Multi-Slide Die Casting?

Multi-slide die casting is a hot chamber casting process that utilizes a die casting tool with up to six perpendicular slides to produce complex and precise metal parts, offering design flexibility that surpasses conventional die casting methods. This technology ensures repeatable part integrity and strength, prevents damage to the tool, and often results in net-shape parts without the need for secondary operations.

Inside the Multi-Slide Process

Our advanced die casting technology delivers net-shaped components at 6x the speed of traditional methods, empowering design freedom through high-precision production.

Multi-Slide vs. Conventional Die Casting

The difference between multi-slide and conventional casting is the construction of the tooling. Conventional offers a simpler, two-part mold, making it more suitable for high-volume production of less intricate parts. Multi-slide utilizes a more complex tooling system with up to six slides, ideal for creating highly detailed and precise components.

Multi-Slide Die Casting Tooling

The multi-slide tool is made up of the die block, sliders, crosshead, and cover plate. Each die block has either a cavity and/or cores on its face, which together form the complete cavity and runner profile into which the molten metal is injected.

Enhancing Die Longevity

Our tool designers predict and incorporate replaceable parts in areas prone to wear in order to extend the lifespan of our die casting tools, enabling cost-effective replacements without needing to replace the entire tool.

Multi-Slide Die Casting in Action

Multi-slide die casting allows for more flexibility with multiple directions of pull, allowing for more complex parts to be manufactured with less secondary operations.
