Silver

Silver has a relative low cost but is susceptible to tarnishing when exposed to sulfur in the atmosphere. It has the highest electrical and thermal conductivity of any metal, and is highly ductile, malleable, and solderable. A matte silver plate is used extensively for finishing electronic components where silver’s mechanical properties alone may not be enough and the design engineer feels that appearance may also be an important consideration. Typical thickness is .0002” for silver plating.
