On June 3, 2017, Dynacast employees from across North America will join together again in the fight against cancer at this year’s Relay for Life at Crestwood Secondary School in Peterborough, Ontario. The Relay for Life event is a 6-hour overnight community fundraising walk that brings together cancer survivors and supporters to honor those battling the disease and remember those who have passed. Teams camp out around the track and each member takes turns walking throughout the night. Last year, the Dynacast Dynamos team raised $30.233.90 for the Canadian Cancer Society and cumulatively walked 356.6 miles! They were reconized last November with an award for raising the most of any team in Peterborough, and in all of Ontario!
Relay for Life isn’t just a walk, it is a journey—much like cancer—and the Dynacast team is proud to support friends, family, and co-workers that have battled the fight against cancer. Team members are coming from different Dynacast locations to walk together and help raise money for this great cause.
Relay for Life started in 1985 when Dr. Gordy Klatt walked and ran for 24 hours around a track ultimately raising $27,000 to help the American Cancer Society. This year, with 22 participants on the team, the Dynacast Dynamos team has a goal of raising $15,000, but with help from family and friends they have every intention of exceeding their goal, again!
